This Privacy Policy explains how DotList handles information. DotList is designed as a local-first app. It does not require an account, does not show ads, does not use advertising identifiers, and does not include third-party tracking.

1. Summary

DotList stores your list content locally on your device. Danz L.L.C. does not operate servers that receive, host, or process your DotList list content.

DotList does not collect location data, advertising identifiers, contacts, photos, health data, financial data, or browsing history.

The only information Danz L.L.C. may receive is:

  • optional crash or diagnostic information provided through Apple’s developer systems, if enabled by your device settings;

  • support emails or other messages you choose to send us;

  • purchase, download, refund, or App Store-related information handled by Apple under Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.

2. Information We Process

2.1 DotList app content

Examples: list names, checklist items, completion status, pinned items, appearance settings, and other in-app settings.

Source: your device.

How it is handled: DotList stores this content locally on your device. Danz L.L.C. does not receive, host, or process your list content on company servers.

Retention and control: your app content remains on your device until you edit it, delete it, reset the app, or delete the app.

Backups and Apple services: if your device is backed up through iCloud, iTunes/Finder, or another Apple service, Apple may store backup copies according to your device settings and Apple’s terms and privacy policies. Danz L.L.C. does not control Apple’s backup systems.

2.2 Crash reports and diagnostics

Examples: device model, operating system version, app version, timestamp, locale, diagnostic logs, and crash stack traces.

Source: Apple developer systems, only if your Apple device settings allow sharing analytics and diagnostics with app developers.

Purpose: to diagnose crashes, improve reliability, and fix bugs.

Retention: we retain crash and diagnostic information only as long as reasonably needed for troubleshooting, app maintenance, security, legal, or business purposes.

How to stop future sharing: you can adjust your Apple device analytics settings in iOS under Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements. The exact wording may vary by iOS version.

2.3 Support emails and direct messages

Examples: your email address, name if included, message content, screenshots or attachments you choose to send, and any other information you voluntarily provide.

Source: you.

Purpose: to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, provide support, improve DotList, and maintain business records.

Retention: we may keep support messages for up to 4 years, or longer if reasonably necessary for legal, security, dispute-resolution, tax, accounting, or compliance purposes. We may delete them sooner when no longer needed.

3. Purposes and Legal Bases

Where privacy laws require a legal basis, we process information for the following purposes:

  • App content: Danz L.L.C. does not receive or process your locally stored DotList list content.

  • Crash reports and diagnostics: legitimate interests in maintaining, debugging, securing, and improving DotList.

  • Support emails: legitimate interests in responding to users, providing support, resolving issues, and maintaining appropriate business records.

  • Legal compliance: compliance with applicable legal obligations, where required.

4. What We Do Not Do

DotList does not:

  • sell your personal information;

  • share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising;

  • use third-party advertising networks;

  • use third-party tracking SDKs;

  • collect precise location data;

  • collect advertising identifiers;

  • require a user account;

  • make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent personal information.

We may share limited information only in these situations:

  • Apple: purchases, downloads, refunds, analytics, crash reports, and App Store-related activity may be handled by Apple under Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.

  • Service providers: if we use email, hosting, storage, or business tools to manage support requests or website operations, those providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to us.

  • Legal or safety reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, legal process, enforcement request, or to protect rights, safety, security, or prevent abuse.

  • Business transfer: if Danz L.L.C. is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or asset transfer, relevant business records may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. International Transfers

Danz L.L.C. is located in the United States.

If you contact us from outside the United States, your message and related information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws different from those in your country.

Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards or legal bases for international transfers, such as contractual protections, adequacy decisions, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

Apple may process App Store, analytics, crash-report, backup, and purchase-related information under Apple’s own terms, safeguards, and privacy policies.

7. Security

DotList is designed to minimize data collection. DotList does not operate company servers that store your list content.

On-device data benefits from Apple’s device security features, including file-system protections and device encryption when available and enabled. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, passcode, Apple Account, backups, and any device-level sharing settings.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we use reasonable measures appropriate to the limited information we process.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request:

  • access to personal information we hold about you;

  • correction of inaccurate information;

  • deletion of information;

  • restriction or objection to certain processing;

  • portability of information;

  • information about categories of personal information collected;

  • confirmation that we do not sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising.

Because DotList list content is stored locally on your device and is not received by Danz L.L.C., privacy requests to us generally apply only to support emails, direct messages, or crash/diagnostic information we may have received through Apple developer systems.

To make a privacy request, email contact@danzllc.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line.

We may need to verify your request before responding. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

You may also adjust Apple analytics and diagnostic sharing settings directly on your device.
